Abstract Gallery

This gallery contains a mixture of painting methods and media to create the various abstract paintings.  “Abstract in Oil” was painted with oil paint using a palette knife to create a textured effect.  “Abstract Mountain Range” is painted in watercolor.

For the remaining abstracts in this gallery, Kathleen developed a  method of first laying a unique material on the paper, and then layering multiple washes of watercolor paints to achieve the color variances in each painting.  Once the painting was completely dry, the initial material was removed, leaving the unusual pattern on the watercolor paper.
